Walnut has rich brown tones that range from medium light streaks to deep dark brown. I have even seen, in some pieces, beautiful streaking of purple and violets.

Over the last 20 years, I have worked in several different shops, from welding to woodworking. In each shop, I witnessed quite a few accidents, and in most cases, at least one of three things caused all.
The rotted area may have been too big for a Dutchman, but it was perfect for a custom accent inlay.
When I find a piece of furniture that really speaks to me and I want to use it for inspiration, I study the design. I try to determine what parts I like and are drawn to and what parts I am not drawn to.
