And let the chicken coop build begin! Since we got our chickens back in December, they have gotten huge, and it is time for them to go outside. The only problem is I have been too busy in the shop to build the coop, but now it’s time. I have no choice, or they are going to take over my house.
Here is the design that I have drawn up. My daughter asked why it has to be so fancy and is only a coop. I don’t know what she is thinking; I`m a furniture builder, it’s what we do. If I had time, this coop would be fully furnished with a kitchen table, chairs, and nightstands!
I want the coop to look like the house and shed, so it fits in nicely with the rest of the yard décor. I also want to leave room to expand our flock. You never knew I could become a chicken farmer and give up woodworking…..naaaaa. It will have a fairly sizable run attached, so they have lots of room to roam around on days I can’t let them out of the coop to forage the yard for bugs.
